Kathleen + Michael.

Congratulations to Kathleen & Mickey!  They were married last Saturday in a gorgeous ceremony downtown.  My favorite part was the “first look.”  During the first look, the bride and groom agree to a private moment where they see each other for the first time before the wedding.  They get to focus on each other for a few minutes before the craziness starts and all the guests arrive (and we also have time to get some cool pictures of the entire wedding party while it’s still light outside!).   I love watching the groom see his bride for the first time… check out that huge smile on his face.  :)

Chandler & David.

I had the privilege of being a second shooter for a wedding this weekend with my friend, Katy Southern.  When I arrived, it was about 900 degrees outside, but the sun was shining beautifully on the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville.   Katy asked if I would hang out with all of the young, handsome groomsmen and photograph them while she worked with the bridesmaids.  She had to really twist my arm.  ;)

A wedding is such a personal event for a couple, and it is always an honor to be part of their important day!

I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure you had to be good-looking, dressed to the hilt, and a UT grad to attend this reception.  (And next time I won’t stand so close to the speakers during Rocky Top… my ears are still ringing!)  Such a FUN party!!!  :)

Brittany + Steven.

I got to photograph a beautiful wedding in Franklin last weekend with my friend, Laurie Carpenter.  I love being her second shooter!  I am putting my wedding business on hold for now while I focus on my first love (family photography), but every now and then, I’ll tag along with someone else and serve as a second shooter.  It’s such a neat experience for me, because I get to tell the story from another pair of eyes, and I can give the bride & groom more shots from different angles.  For example, I love this first shot.  There is no way that the main photographer could have captured this moment.  While Laurie was in the front of the church shooting the processional, I was able to capture the bride spending the final moments with her father before walking down the aisle.  It truly is an honor to be involved in a couple’s wedding day.  Thank you and congratulations to Brittany and Steven!

Camille & Daniel.

I was the second shooter for my awesome photographer friend, Laurie, again on Saturday!  I met up with her at Centennial Park before the ceremony, and just before we helped the bride out of her limo, my friend leaned over and whispered, “Wait until you see her… she’s beautiful.”  Uh, more like STUNNING!!!

This bridal party was so much fun!  They each got so good at the routine – take a picture, dab sweat off of your forehead, take a picture, dab sweat off of your forehead…  :)

Seriously, girls.  The hair, the makeup, the dresses, the smiles… you all are gorgeous!!!

Okay, okay, I could show off pictures of the ladies all day, but I’m afraid the guys might feel left out.  Just one more and then we’ll move on.

Meet the handsome (and very, very tall) groom.

The groomsmen were a riot.  I didn’t stick around for the reception, but I imagine it was pretty entertaining to watch these guys.

I love the way Camille glanced at her dad as they started down the aisle.

And I absolutely adore the way she gazed at Daniel during the ceremony.

Congratulations to you both!

Green Hills outdoor wedding.

I am not personally taking any weddings for 2010, but I jumped at the chance to serve as second shooter for my friend, Laurie, a couple of weeks ago!  Even though she almost passed out from heat stroke, and I came home with about 27 mosquito bites, I would totally do it all over again.  :)  I got to hang out with my friend and be part of a very elegant evening with some very beautiful people!  Congratulations to the newly married Rachel & Jonathan!

Everybody say cheeeeese!

Andrea + Chris… the first dance.

One more super cool thing I have to share about Andrea & Chris’s wedding… Andrea’s dad serenaded them for their first dance.  How awesome is that!?  If you look closely, you can see him with the microphone in front of the band.
