Meet Addelyn. She stole my heart last night with her big squeezeable cheeks and bright blue eyes. Yeah, I got chewed up by mosquitoes during her session, but I would do it all over again for this doll! :)

I am back in Nashville after a very LONG week out-of-town! I spent this morning with a beautiful little 3-week-old girl. I typically don’t do very many newborn sessions when the baby is older than 2 weeks, but we just couldn’t get our schedules together to fit MacKenzie in before I left town, so she had to wait until today. She was sleepy almost the whole time and did such a great job!

These are my girls. Well, not exactly MY girls… they belong to my best friend from high school… but I claim them as my own. I can’t wait until they’re old enough for me to to tell them all kinds of secrets about their mom & dad from back in the day. :) In the meantime, we’ll continue to chit chat about Disney princesses and Bitty Babies.
These images were taken on the farm where I grew up in Illinois on a yucky, dreary day last week. Ugh! I was hoping for some bright sunshine! Fortunately, Miss Creighton looks good in any light. Check out her spunky attitude. ;)

Maris is the little one. We did her newborn session in the hospital exactly one year ago (it was pure luck that I happened to be in town the day she was born!). I LOVE her name. Her daddy came up with it when her mom was pregnant and they were at a Cardinals baseball game — yeah, he read it on the back of a jersey, which I think is too funny. Love you guys!!!

We extended our Memorial Day holiday so I could take the kids to St. Louis on Tuesday. My hometown in Illinois is only 90 miles east of St. Louis, and I actually lived in the city for three years during law school. It has a totally different flavor than Nashville, and it was so much fun to get to visit again!

My kids at the base of the Arch…

I did an entire photo session in the rain yesterday afternoon… no joke. I had a burp rag draped over my camera the whole time! (You can actually see the rain drops on the pond.) There was no time to reschedule, though, because I wanted to photograph my cousin and her gorgeous family while I was still in town!

I would like to thank the snapping turtles for staying away while Becker & Tinsley splashed in the pond. No toes were lost during this session.

My kids and I are out-of-town for a few days visiting my folks. I grew up on a farm in southern Illinois, and my kids LOVE to go back and fish, have turtle races, drive the four-wheelers, and get dirty. :) I hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!!!

You know what they say… drool happens.
