Office alert.

I will be on vacation from February 21 through March 1 and will not have cell phone service during that time (yikes!).  :)  All emails and phone messages will be returned the week of March 2.

XOXO.

I spent Valentine’s Day with this handsome fellow.  He was tall, dark & handsome and weighed about 6 pounds.  He even stayed awake for most of our date (a lot of my dates fall asleep on me).  He yawned a few times while I was talking to him… I guess I’m not as interesting as I thought.  :)  Happy Valentine’s Day, and welcome to the world, Baby Owen!

Thursday’s cutie.

My husband always gets a little nervous when I visit this family.  Take a look at this huggable little 4-month-old.  He lives down in Murfreesboro in an older home that his parents have restored and filled with antiques, which is totally up my alley.  I love everything about their house.  In fact, when I visited them for their newborn session four months ago, I stopped at the furniture store on my way home and bought a bed exactly like theirs.  I promised my husband that I wouldn’t stop at the furniture store this time (but I did stop at The Avenue… I don’t think I’ll be mentioning that to him).

Five pounds of cuteness.

Meet the guy who melted my heart today.  His name is Luke, and he has the softest skin and blondest hair.  He was one of the easiest newborns that I’ve had in a while, and I just fell in love with this kid!

The morning after.

I survived a 6-year-old birthday party last night at my house that included eight kindergarten girls.  (If you’ve never been in a room with eight kindergarten girls, let me tell you, it’s NOISY.)  Now that I’ve gotten all of the pizza and cupcake crumbs swept up from my kitchen, I would like to show off a couple more pictures of my daughter.  (Thank goodness for 60 degree days in February!  I don’t usually get to do her birthday portraits outside!)

A note to the new mothers…

I have been photographing several newborns lately, and I just want to tell all of the new mothers to hang in there.  This period of sleep deprivation, spitting up, colicky crying, and constant diaper changing will be over before you know it.  Really.  One day soon you will be watching your firstborn baby blow out SIX candles on her cupcake, just like I did tonight.  :)
