From babies to teens.

Forget the space heater and the warming blankets that have carried me through the last few sessions.  I totally switched gears today and spent the afternoon with five teens out in the freezing cold.  Despite the weather, I had a blast with these guys.  Grandma was the one who gave me the initial call – this is the first time in five years that all five of her grandchildren were together!  The grandparents came from Colorado, three of the kids flew in from Korea, and the other two live right here in Franklin.

Do you know how hard it is for teenagers to “walk and act natural?”  :)

We had to so something to stay warm in between shots!

Another little one.

Here we go… third newborn in a row!  It’s so much fun to have a job where I can hold little babies but not actually have to take them home or do any of the real work.  :)  This tiny little girl was a doll, and so was her big sister!

‘Tis the season (for newborns, that is).

Newborns seem to come in pairs for me.  I got to meet another sweet new baby today – this one was a beautiful little girl from Thompsons Station.  Her big brother tried to convince me that her name was Chickypoo.  (I don’t think that’s what Mom will put on the birth announcement, but I could be wrong.)

Big Brother was doing such a good job of being still and following directions, when all of a sudden, Chickypoo hauled off and kicked him in the ear!  :)

Welcome to the world.

On this historic day in our nation’s history, I had the privilege of photographing a newborn.  This is what the next generation looks like:

Burrr.

Yes, it was the coldest weekend of the year, and I did an outdoor session on Saturday.  Miss Tessa is turning one next week, so we had to get her out and document this big milestone!  She was such a trooper!  :)

“Do you people realize it’s 33 degrees out here?”

She was sinking into her jacket, but I just love this sweet little face!

Must have been a little warmer on Daddy’s shoulders!

Downtown with the cutest kids!

Thank you, Lord, for the 60 degree weather on Friday.  I was supposed to meet these kiddos and their mom downtown on Friday afternoon… and when we got to our location, we discovered that it was closed!!!  So we just marched right down the street and did their photo session on the sidewalk.  Fortunately, the weather was gorgeous.  (And fortunately, their mom is a wonderful friend of mine and she trusted me to drag her children down the busy street!)

Couldn’t you just eat this little girl up???  We were stopped by no less than three total strangers who commented on how beautiful she looked in her Matilda Jane dress!

And you gotta love the baby brother.  He is 9-months-old and such a little doll!
