Monthly Archives: October 2008
I have been working around the clock the past few weeks (or at least it feels that way) and I am almost caught up with my work (thank goodness… my house needs desperate attention - my office looks like a tornado went through with papers and pictures laying everywhere). If you are still waiting for me to respond to an email, I promise it is coming soon! In addition to my regular sessions, I also offered several mini-sessions this fall, and there’s no way I will have time to blog about all of those. I do want to share a few of the lessons that I have learned over the course of this busy month.
Lesson #1: Teething babies will ALWAYS try to eat the wooden armrest on my little chair. Allow these two boys to demonstrate.
Lesson #2: The pyramid pose does not work during a major meltdown.
Lesson #3: Actually, NO pose will work during a major meltdown.
Lesson #4: A dedicated model will always hold her position and work the camera even when little brother crawls away. :)
I got the biggest kick out of this baby. He is absolutely adorable, and those blue eyes are to die for. What makes him totally loveable, though, is his personality. He had the most animated expressions! Here he is at the beginning of his session… he’s looking handsome, and he knows it. :)
Then a quick wardrobe change… clearly he is questioning Mama’s choice of headgear!
“HEY – no one told me there would be tummy time involved in this!!!”
I love, love, love this family. They have been with me from the beginning and have been so encouraging along the way. It took a few minutes to get the three-year-old to warm up this time, but a few leaves in my hair did the trick. (Why is that so funny to kids? There’s something about putting leaves/grass/dirt in my hair… you should see me when I get home from my sessions – I look ROUGH!) :)
I love four-year-old boys… probably because I have one of my own. :) This four-year-old braved the muddy Ag Center on Saturday morning with his parents and grandparents. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect, but all of the rain from Friday had made the ground a dirty mess. Fortunately, shoes and clothes will wash. It’s worth getting a little messy to capture a face like this:
