July’s family picture was taken at one of my favorite places… Blue Mountain Beach. I am already counting the weeks until next summer when I can go back!

This is my last blog post before I officially take a break for a little while… I will be back the first of August, but in the meantime, I need to recharge before school starts and the fall craziness begins! Since I won’t be blogging for a couple of weeks, I am so glad that I got to photograph this family last night, because I want their blog post to sit at the top of my page until I get back. This is my friend, Darlene, her husband, Brandon, and their three gorgeous kids. Darlene was diagnosed with breast cancer last week and will be having surgery soon. Her best friend was the one who emailed me yesterday to set up their photo session. Her friend thought it might be nice for her to have some family pictures taken before the lengthy battle against this disease officially begins. Darlene had about six hours to pull everything together and get her family ready, but she pulled it off and everyone looked great! :) Please pray for strength and healing for this family as they face the next several months!
Here’s a peek at the cute family I photographed this morning! These kiddos were so adorable. I think their mom & dad were convinced when they left that we didn’t get any good pictures, because Reid and his little sister, Blake, wanted to run and play more than they wanted to be still and smile (seriously, who could blame them?!?). I’m happy to report that we captured several sweet images for this family… I think Mom & Dad will be happy with the end result!
Congratulations to Kathleen & Mickey! They were married last Saturday in a gorgeous ceremony downtown. My favorite part was the “first look.” During the first look, the bride and groom agree to a private moment where they see each other for the first time before the wedding. They get to focus on each other for a few minutes before the craziness starts and all the guests arrive (and we also have time to get some cool pictures of the entire wedding party while it’s still light outside!). I love watching the groom see his bride for the first time… check out that huge smile on his face. :)
I get to see this handsome boy every summer, and it is our tradition to meet on the day when excessive heat warnings are in effect and the temperature is around 600 degrees! Oh my goodness, it was hot today! I absolutely adore this boy and his mama. He is just as goofy as my own six-year-old boy and so fun to be around. Here’s a peek at his session… it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SUUUUPER LAAANE!!!!
Taking pictures of this family has to be one of my summer highlights! Can’t believe these girls are already ONE and THREE! Time flies…
